Laura is a Houston County native who graduated from Rehobeth High School in 1994. She attended Troy University where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in 1998, and she earned a Master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2001. Laura spent more than ten years working as a paralegal before entering Jones School of Law at Faulkner University in Montgomery. She received her Juris Doctor in May, 2011 and was admitted to the Alabama State Bar shortly thereafter. Laura previously worked as an Associate for the Law Office of William C. Maddox, P.C., in Dothan before opening her own firm in July, 2012.
Laura Peterman Wells primarily focuses her practice in areas of domestic law, including:
- Divorce and custody issues
- Child support modification and enforcement
- Juvenile Defense
- Criminal defense.
In addition, Laura handles a wide variety of general legal matters, including probate, collections, landlord/tenant and other contract disputes, and estate planning.
Laura is married to Kevin Wells, formerly of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and they have one son, Tanner. The Wells family is active in Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Taylor. Her extracurricular activities are usually centered around Tanner’s baseball, basketball, or sailing schedule.
